Know what you’re booking

This isn’t self storage, and that’s usually the point

Self storage means you hire an empty unit, then you hire a ute, you load it, you drive it out to the facility, and you do the whole thing again in reverse months later. The unit is cheap. The two weekends are not.

We run managed storage. Our crew collects from your door, wraps everything, stores it, and brings it back when your date is confirmed. There’s one honest trade-off and it’s worth knowing up front: you can’t drop in whenever you like. Access is arranged with notice, because your goods sit in a working facility rather than behind a roller door you hold the key to.

If you need to get at your things every other week, a self storage unit is the better product and we’ll say so. If it’s going away until you move, managed storage costs less in total once the ute hire and the weekends are counted.

Every kind of gap

What people use storage in Sydney for

Almost always a gap between two dates that don’t line up.

Between settlements

Settlement dates rarely match. Store for a week, a month or however long the gap runs.

Renovations

Furniture out of the way while floors go down, then back once the dust settles.

Downsizing

Somewhere to keep what won’t fit yet while the family works out where it goes.

Interstate moves

Store this end or the other while you find a place, on the same booking as the run.

Going overseas

Long term storage for a posting, a contract or a year away, billed monthly.

Deceased estates

Hold everything while the estate is sorted, without anyone deciding under pressure.

Business archives & stock

Files, records, excess workstations and equipment during a fit-out or move.

Selling your home

Clear the clutter for photos and inspections, get it back after settlement.

Pickup & delivery

Pickup and delivery service Sydney wide

Collection and redelivery are part of every storage booking — that’s the whole model. Your coordinator books a pickup window, the crew wraps and loads, and everything comes back to the address you nominate when your date is confirmed.

You don’t have to bring it all back at once, either. Partial deliveries are common: the bed and the lounge now because the new place is ready, the rest when the second bedroom is painted. Tell your coordinator which items and we’ll pull them from the inventory.

We also do pickup and delivery on its own, with no storage attached. A marketplace buy that won’t fit in the car, a lounge from a showroom that only delivers kerbside, a single item between two addresses, or something going to a family member across town. Same insured crew, same trucks, priced as a one-off job.

It’s the same service the old Pickup & Delivery page covered — it just lives here now, alongside storage, so there’s one place to book it whether you’re storing or not.

Pricing

How much storage costs in Sydney

Storage is priced by the volume you use and the length of time you need it, billed monthly with no lock-in. A quarter of a truck costs a quarter of a truck, not a whole unit you’re only half filling.

How it’s priced

By volume, per month

The space your goods actually occupy

Minimum term

None

No lock-in, month to month

Pickup & redelivery

Quoted with the storage

One price, not three invoices

Access

By arrangement

Give us notice and we’ll pull your items

Volume

How many cubic metres your goods take up once wrapped and stacked.

Duration

Longer terms usually attract a better monthly rate.

Access at pickup

Stairs, lifts and carry distance affect the collection, not the storage.

Distance

Where we’re collecting from and delivering back to.

Packing

Whether we pack and dismantle, or you have it ready to load.

Partial deliveries

Getting some items back early is possible, and quoted per trip.

Looking for cheap storage Sydney wide?

Compare the whole cost, not the monthly rate. A cheap storage unit still needs a ute or trailer hire twice, fuel, a day of your time at each end, and usually a friend who expects lunch. That’s often several hundred dollars and two weekends before the first month’s rent.

The two things that genuinely lower a managed storage bill are volume and honesty about duration. Dismantling beds and wardrobes, and clearing out what you’re never going to want again before it goes in, both shrink the space you pay for every month. Tell your coordinator the real timeframe and they’ll quote the rate that suits it.

The facility

Where your things actually sit

Storage is a trust purchase. You hand over everything you own and don’t see it for months, so it’s fair to ask what the building is like.

Sealed & separated

Your goods are stored in their own sealed modules, not loose in a shared warehouse space.

Monitored & alarmed

Secured facility with restricted access. No public wandering the aisles after hours.

Dry & ventilated

Undercover, off the floor and ventilated, so timber and upholstery come out the way they went in.

Inventoried

Everything logged on the way in and checked off on the way out. You get a copy.

How it works

How storage runs from start to finish

  1. Tell us what and how long

Rough volume and a rough timeframe is enough. Written quote back within two hours.

  2. We collect

Crew arrives, wraps and dismantles what needs it, loads and inventories everything on the way out.

  3. Stored and billed monthly

Sealed, logged and insured. Billed month to month with no lock-in, so you stop when you’re done.

  4. Delivered back

Give us your date. Everything comes back, gets reassembled and goes where you want it.

Why UNN

Four things most storage companies won’t give you

  1. Real-time GPS tracking

Watch the truck on collection and delivery day instead of waiting on a window.

  2. On-time guarantee

If we book a slot, we’re in it — which matters when you’ve got keys to hand back.

  3. No cancellation fees

Settlement moved again? Change the collection or delivery date at no charge.

  4. One dedicated coordinator

The same person at pickup, during storage and at delivery, however many months apart.

Coverage

Storage Sydney wide, collected from your door

We collect from every suburb in the Sydney metro and deliver back anywhere in it, so where the facility sits matters far less than it would with a self storage unit — you never have to drive there. That’s worth knowing if you’ve been searching for self storage Blacktown or storage Penrith because it’s the closest facility to you. With managed storage, proximity stops being the deciding factor: we come to your door in Blacktown, Penrith, Kellyville or anywhere else across western Sydney, and bring everything back when you’re ready. Our base is in Parramatta, so western Sydney collections are local runs for us.

Questions

Storage questions, answered

How much does storage cost in Sydney?
It’s priced by the volume your goods take up and how long you need it, billed monthly. Because you pay for the space you actually use rather than a fixed unit size, a small load costs proportionally less than renting the smallest available self storage unit. Tell us roughly what’s going in and for how long and you’ll have a written quote within two hours.
Is there a minimum term or a lock-in contract?
No lock-in. Storage is billed month to month, so if the settlement comes through three weeks early you stop paying three weeks early. Longer terms usually attract a better monthly rate, but you’re never committed to a period you no longer need.
What’s the difference between this and self storage?
With self storage you rent an empty unit and do everything yourself — hire a vehicle, load it, drive out, unload, then repeat it in reverse. With managed storage we collect from your door, wrap and load it, store it and bring it back. You pay for the space your goods occupy rather than a whole unit. The trade-off is access: you can’t drop in unannounced, because it’s a working facility rather than a unit you hold the key to.
Can I get to my things while they’re in storage?
Yes, by arrangement rather than on demand. Give your coordinator notice of what you need and we’ll retrieve it, or deliver it out to you. If you know you’ll want frequent access — stock, tools, equipment you use weekly — a self storage unit genuinely suits you better and we’ll tell you so.
Do you pick up and deliver, or do I bring it in?
We collect and we deliver back. That’s the model, and it’s included in the quote rather than charged as a separate job. Collection covers stairs, lifts and long carries, and delivery includes reassembling whatever we dismantled on the way in.
Can I get some items back without emptying the whole lot?
Yes. Partial deliveries are common — the bed and lounge now, the rest once the second bedroom is finished. Everything is inventoried when it goes in, so tell your coordinator which items you want and we’ll pull them. Each delivery trip is quoted separately.
Do you offer pickup and delivery without storage?
Yes. A standalone pickup and delivery service Sydney wide for single items and small loads — a marketplace purchase that won’t fit in the car, a showroom lounge that only delivers kerbside, furniture going to a family member across town. Same insured crew and trucks, priced as a one-off job with no storage attached.
How short is short term storage?
As short as you need. Plenty of short term storage Sydney bookings run a week or two while settlement dates catch up, or a fortnight during a renovation. There’s no minimum period, so a short gap costs a short gap.
How long can I store for?
There’s no upper limit. Long term storage of a year or more is common for people posted overseas, on long contracts, or holding a deceased estate while it’s sorted. Billing stays monthly the whole time.
Are my belongings insured while in storage?
Yes. Cover applies while your goods are in storage as well as in transit, which is worth checking with any provider — some insure the transport and leave the storage period to you. For high-value items, raise it with your coordinator and we’ll confirm the cover in writing.
Do you cover Blacktown, Penrith and western Sydney?
Yes, and our base is in Parramatta so those are local runs for us rather than long-distance collections. If you’ve been looking at self storage in Blacktown or storage in Penrith because it’s the nearest facility, managed storage removes that constraint entirely — we come to your door and bring everything back, so how far away the building sits stops mattering.
What can’t be stored?
Anything perishable, flammable or hazardous — food, plants, fuel, gas bottles, paint, chemicals and aerosols. Nothing living, and no illegal items. We also recommend against storing irreplaceable documents, jewellery or cash; keep those with you.
Do you store business archives and office furniture?
Yes. Files, records, excess workstations and equipment during a fit-out, a downsize or a staged move. Everything is inventoried, so retrieving one box of files is a request rather than a search. It’s often booked alongside an office relocation.
Can you store my things during an interstate move?
Yes, at either end. Storage-in-transit is common on interstate moves because settlement dates across two states almost never line up. We hold the load and deliver once you’re ready at the other end.
How do I keep the storage bill down?
Two things do most of the work. Let us dismantle beds, tables and wardrobes, because flat-packed furniture takes a fraction of the space upright furniture does, and you pay by volume every month. And clear out what you’re never going to want again before it goes in — it’s cheaper to remove it once than to store it for a year and remove it anyway.
