Questions we get asked about moving in Darwin

How much do removalists in Darwin cost?
Local jobs run hourly, with a two hour minimum. What changes the number is stairs and distance. An elevated Parap home and a ground floor Palmerston unit are different jobs. A Humpty Doo run adds drive time at both ends. Give us both addresses and the property size. The written price lands the same morning.
Which areas do you cover?
Darwin, Palmerston and the Litchfield rural area, including Humpty Doo, Howard Springs and Berry Springs. For communities further out, ring and ask. We would rather tell you straight than quote a trip we cannot do.
Can you move me today?
Usually. Territory notice periods are short, so this comes up more here than down south. We hold capacity back for it. Call before lunch and we check the run sheet while you are on the phone.
Can you move during the wet season?
Yes. We move through the wet every year. Darwin takes more than 1,700mm a year. January alone can pass 400mm. Waiting for a dry week is not a plan. We start early, keep loads covered and work around the afternoon storm. Cardboard is the real problem, not rain on the truck. Humidity above 80 per cent softens a carton overnight. So we pack and load close together, rather than letting boxes sit for a week.
Are my belongings insured?
Every job carries $1M public liability and goods in transit cover. The two do different things. One covers the building, the other covers what we are carrying. Cartons you packed yourself sit under different terms to cartons our packers filled. That is standard across the industry. Want the certificate of currency? Ask and we send it.
Can you move us from Darwin down south?
Yes. We run between any two cities, so Darwin to Adelaide, Perth or Brisbane all go direct. Nothing detours through a depot that has nothing to do with your move. Tell us the dates early, because the long runs fill further ahead than local work.
Do you supply boxes and packing materials?
Yes, dropped to your door before packing day. Cartons, paper, bubble wrap, tape, labels, port-a-robes and covers. Unused ones come off the invoice. One tip for up here. Do not take delivery weeks early and leave them in a carport. Humidity gets into the cardboard before you have packed a thing.
