Same Day & Last Minute Removalists in Melbourne

Same day removalists in Melbourne, for when the plan fell over this morning. Ring before midday and you will know within minutes what is possible today. No urgency loading and no emergency call-out fee.

6am–10pm, seven days No short-notice surcharge An answer in minutes, not days

Short notice does not mean corners cut

The job runs the same way it would if you had booked it a month ago.

  • The same hourly rate as a booking made weeks out
  • Our own crew not whoever answered the phone
  • Blankets, straps and wrap still come with the truck
  • Floor and doorframe protection still goes down
  • $1M public liability and transit cover as always
  • Live tracking so you can see where the truck is
  • A straight answer in minutes including a no
  • 6am to 10pm, seven days so late starts work
  • Furniture dismantled if that is what gets it out
  • One coordinator on the phone all day

Moving today or tomorrow?

Calling is faster. If you'd rather type it, we'll come straight back.

We'll call you back, usually within the hour

What is actually possible on a few hours notice

Most of it. Two things in Melbourne genuinely cannot be fixed today, and you deserve to hear that before you book.

  • Small loads, nearly always

A studio, a single room, a share house bedroom or a part load. If a truck and two crew are free, that job goes today. Ring rather than email and you will have an answer while you are still on the call.

  • A whole house, sometimes

A four-bedroom needs a crew and a truck that were probably committed days ago. Not impossible, but it depends on the day. We will tell you straight away rather than holding you on a maybe.

  • The parking permit cannot happen today

This is the real inner-Melbourne limit. Councils do not approve a reserved parking permit on the morning you ask. So a same day move in Fitzroy or Carlton works with whatever kerb space exists. That can mean a longer carry and more hours. Worth knowing before you commit.

  • Lifts and docks need lead time

If either end is a tower, building management usually needs notice for the service lift and dock. That is the most common reason a same day move cannot happen. No removalist can override it. Tell us the building first and we will check.

Why people need to move at short notice

  • Your mover cancelled

The most common call we get. Someone did not show, and the lease ends today.

  • Settlement moved

Brought forward, or the keys landed earlier than anyone planned for.

  • The place is unfit

In Victoria a renter can leave on 14 days notice where premises are unfit to live in.

  • A relationship ended

Somebody needs to be out today. We do these quietly and without questions.

  • A share house changed

One room, one load, usually across the inner north and usually this week.

  • Handover came early

The agent wants the keys on a date nobody told you about.

  • A job started

Interstate transfer, new role, and the start date did not move for you.

  • The new place fell through

Into storage today, out again when the next one is sorted.

Does a same day move cost more?

Not with us. Plenty of movers add an urgency loading or an emergency call-out fee. We do not.

  • Hourly rate

    The standard one

Same as a booking made a month out

  • Urgency fee

    None

    No call-out charge either

  • Minimum

    Two hours

    Same as any local move

  • Hours

    6am to 10pm

Seven days, including a late start

What does change the total

How much is packed when we arrive. A short notice move usually means half the house is still in cupboards. The crew end up packing on the clock.

Got a few hours before we arrive? Put the kitchen and the loose things in boxes. That is the single biggest thing you can do to bring the bill down.

From your call to the keys, in a day

  1. 01 Step

    Ring, do not email

We check the run sheet while you are on the phone. Yes or no in minutes.

  2. 02 Step

    Quick scope

Bedrooms, both addresses, stairs and the building. Enough for a price on the spot.

  3. 03 Step

    Crew dispatched

Nearest free truck and crew, with a tracking link so you can watch it come.

  4. 04 Step

    Loaded and gone

Wrapped, loaded and delivered. Late finishes are normal on these jobs.

Four things that matter more when you are in a hurry

  1. A straight no when it is a no

You can work with a no at 9am. A maybe at 4pm is worthless.

  2. The rate does not move

No urgency loading. Today costs what next month would have cost.

  3. Our own crew

Insured and trained, not a scramble of whoever was free this morning.

  4. 6am to 10pm, seven days

The reason same day is real here and not just a page on a website.

Short notice questions, answered

Can you really move me today?
Often, yes. A small load with a free truck and crew nearly always goes. Ring before midday and you will know within minutes rather than waiting on an email.
Do same day movers charge more?
Many do, through an urgency loading or an emergency call-out fee. We do not. The hourly rate today is the rate on a job booked a month ahead.
What is the latest you can start?
We work to 10pm, seven days. An evening start is fine for a small load. It is often the only slot left on a busy day.
Can you move a whole house today?
Sometimes. A four-bedroom needs a crew and a truck that were likely committed days ago. We will tell you straight away whether today is realistic.
What if my building needs a lift booking?
That is the most common reason a same day move cannot happen. Towers usually need notice for the service lift and dock. Tell us the building first and we will check before anything is promised.
Can you sort a parking permit today?
No, and nobody can. Councils do not approve reserved parking permits on the morning. In the inner city that may mean a longer carry, which we will factor into the quote.
What should I do before the crew arrive?
Pack whatever you can, starting with the kitchen and loose items. Every box you fill is time the crew spend carrying rather than packing.
My removalist cancelled. Can you take over?
Yes, and it is the call we get most. Tell us what the other mover was going to do and we will pick it up from there.
Can I store it today and move later?
Yes. We collect today and hold it until you have an address. That is the usual answer when the new place falls through.
Do you charge a deposit on a same day job?
A $50 deposit holds a local date and comes off the total. On a same day booking there is no 24 hour window. That deposit is committed once the crew are dispatched.
