Moving into a retirement village or aged care home is not the same job as moving a share house. There is usually more to sort than to carry, and the person moving often isn't the person organising it.

We run aged care relocation in Sydney inside our home removals service, so you get the same insured crew and the same coordinator. We book more time than the volume suggests, because the day should run at whatever pace suits.

Your coordinator can deal with an adult child, a case manager or a village office instead of the person moving. Villages and facilities have their own booking windows, entry points and lift rules, and we confirm those before the day rather than sorting it in the car park.

Anything not going along can be cleared in the same visit through rubbish removal, held in storage while the family decides, or the old place left inspection ready with end of lease cleaning.

Affordable home removals without cutting corners

Cheap usually means fewer movers. Fewer movers means more hours, so the invoice lands in much the same place with more of your day gone. We size the crew to the job instead, which is what keeps an hourly move affordable.

Student removals sit at the cheap end for a simple reason. One room out of a share house is a small load, so it needs two movers and a smaller truck, and it is usually done inside the two hour minimum. Campus and share house moves also tend to be boxes and a bed rather than a full lounge suite, which loads fast. The things that push a student move up are the ones you can control: a third floor walk-up with no lift, a Saturday at the end of the month, or a room that isn't packed when the crew arrives. Book midweek, pack ahead, and it stays about as cheap as a move gets.

What we don't do is quote low and find the rest on the day. Stairs, lifts, parking and long carries all get asked about at quote stage and built into the price.

How much do house removalists cost in Sydney?
Local house moves are hourly, based on how many movers and what size truck the job needs. A one bedroom unit is usually two movers and a medium truck. A three bedroom house is usually three movers and a large truck. Send us your bedrooms, both addresses and the date and a written quote comes back within two hours.
Do you charge by the hour or a fixed price?
Local Sydney moves are hourly. Regional NSW and interstate moves are quoted as a fixed price once we know the volume, so you have the total before we load.
Is there a minimum booking?
Yes. Local moves have a two hour minimum. Travel time between our Parramatta base and your addresses is included in the quote rather than added afterwards.
Do you take a deposit?
A $50 deposit holds a local booking. Interstate is 50% of the quote. Cancel more than 24 hours before the job and the deposit comes back in full, so there is no cancellation fee either way.
How long does a house move take?
A one bedroom unit with easy access is usually three to four hours. A two to three bedroom house is typically five to seven. Four bedrooms and up is generally a full day. Stairs, long carries and lift waits are what stretch it.
Do stairs or a lift cost extra?
There is no stairs surcharge. Access changes how long the job takes, so we ask about stairs, lifts, parking and carry distance up front and build it into the quote instead of adding it on the day.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. We carry $1 million public liability and goods in transit cover, and it applies from pickup through to delivery. If something in your home is worth more than the rest of it combined, tell your coordinator when you book so we can confirm the cover in writing.
Are your movers employees or subcontractors?
They are our own staff. That matters because our workers compensation and public liability cover the people in your home, rather than a subcontractor's policy you have never seen.
Can you supply a Certificate of Currency for my building?
Yes. Most Sydney strata buildings will not let a removalist start without written proof of public liability. Give your coordinator the building manager's details when you book and the certificate goes across before the day.
Do I need a parking permit for the truck?
In parts of the inner city and inner west, yes. Permits are issued by the local council and can take a few business days, so it is worth asking early. Tell us the street and we will say whether one is needed.
Do you move on weekends and after hours?
We run seven days from 6am to 10pm, with emergency service outside those hours. The limit is usually the building rather than us, since plenty of Sydney apartment blocks restrict move times. Give us the address and we will check what is allowed.
What if my settlement date moves?
Rescheduling is free. Dates slip constantly in Sydney and we plan for it, so moving your booking costs nothing as long as we know 24 hours out.
Do you pack for me?
If you want. We can do the fragile items only, or the whole house, and bring the cartons and materials with us. See packing and unpacking for how it works.
What if there is a gap between my two places?
We move you into storage and deliver to the new address when you are ready. It is billed monthly with no lock in, so a fortnight costs a fortnight.
Is there anything you can't move?
We do not carry paint, gas bottles, petrol, fireworks or anything else flammable, and live plants and pets travel with you rather than on the truck. Pianos, safes and pool tables are fine, they just get quoted through piano and heavy items.
Do you move out of Sydney to regional NSW?
Yes, and regional runs are quoted as a fixed price rather than hourly. Tell your coordinator the destination town and we will confirm the route and the date options.
Can you help with an aged care or retirement village move?
Yes, and it runs at a different pace to a normal job. We allow more time than the volume suggests, deal with a family member or case manager if that is easier, and confirm the village access rules before the day.
What should I do before the crew arrives?
Three things help most. Clear a path from the furthest room to the front door. Finish the kitchen boxes, since loose items slow a load down more than anything else. And keep passports, medication, keys and chargers in one bag that travels with you.
