What’s actually possible on a few hours’ notice

Same-day capacity is real but finite. It comes down to two things: what is already booked for that day, and how much of the day is left when you ring.

A studio at 9am and a four-bedroom house at 3pm are completely different questions with completely different answers. You deserve the real one on the first call, because the worst outcome is not us saying no. It is somebody saying yes and running out of daylight.

    A morning call means a crew can still be with you in the afternoon. A 3pm call for a three-bedroom house is usually tomorrow, and we say so rather than starting a job that cannot finish.

  • Smaller loads move faster

    A studio or a single room at short notice is nearly always possible. A four-bedroom house needs a crew and a truck that were probably committed days ago.

  • Packing is the bottleneck, not the truck

    If nothing is boxed, the crew packs before they load and that changes the timing entirely. We bring cartons and pack for you, but say so on the call so the right number of people turn up.

  • Buildings still have rules

Can you really move me today?
Often, and the honest answer depends on the time you ring and the size of the load. A studio or a single room called in before midday is nearly always possible. A four-bedroom house at 3pm is usually tomorrow morning. We check the day’s crews while you are on the phone and tell you either way in minutes, because a maybe is worth nothing to you right now.
Do same day moving companies charge more?
Many do, through an urgency loading or an emergency call-out fee. We do not. The hourly rate on a short-notice job is the same rate as one booked weeks ahead. What does change the total is how much is packed when we arrive, because unpacked rooms take a crew longer and you pay for those hours.
How late can I call and still move today?
There is no cut-off time, only daylight and crew availability. We take bookings from 6am to 10pm seven days, so a late-afternoon call for a small load can still work. For anything bigger than a one-bedroom flat, an afternoon call usually becomes a first-thing-tomorrow job, and we would rather book that properly than start something that stops halfway.
What if nothing is packed?
Tell us on the call, because it changes the crew we send. Movers packing at moving rates is the expensive way to do it, so we send packers with the truck instead. Anything you box tonight comes off tomorrow’s clock, and the kitchen is the room worth starting with because it takes the longest.
Can you help if another removalist cancelled?
Yes, and it is the single most common reason people ring this number. Being let down on the morning of a move is genuinely awful, especially when keys are due back. Last minute furniture movers exist for exactly this. Call with both addresses and a rough idea of the load and we will tell you what today can look like.
Is a rushed move still insured?
Yes, identically. The same $1M goods-in-transit and public liability cover applies from the first item on the van, and the crew are the same trained employees who do the moves booked a month out. Speed changes the schedule, not the standard. Blankets, straps and floor protection still come out.
What should I do while I wait for the crew?
Three things, in order. Clear a path from the furniture to the front door, because that saves more time than anything else. Box the kitchen and anything breakable. Then put documents, medication, keys, chargers and valuables in one bag that travels with you, not on the truck. In a rushed move that bag is the thing people most often lose track of.
Can you move me at night or on a weekend?
Yes. We run 6am to 10pm seven days, so evening loads and weekend moves are normal rather than special arrangements. Apartment buildings are the limit rather than us, because most strata rules restrict move times and lift bookings, and a Sunday evening is often outside what the building allows.
What if I have nowhere to move to yet?
Then the move and the destination are two separate problems, and only one of them is urgent. We load everything into managed storage and deliver it to your new address when you have one. Billing is monthly with no lock-in, so a fortnight costs a fortnight. This is a common answer when a lease ends before the next place is signed.
Which Sydney suburbs can you reach today?
Every suburb in the metro, though how quickly depends on where the nearest free crew already is. We run from Parramatta, so western Sydney and the Hills are usually fastest, and the CBD, inner west, eastern suburbs, North Shore, Northern Beaches, St George and the Shire are all reachable on the day.
