  • Professional movers and a truck sized to what you’re moving
  • The same hourly rate as a move booked weeks ahead — no urgency surcharge
  • Furniture blankets, straps and shrink wrapping on the truck already
  • Trolleys, dollies and stair climbers for heavy and awkward pieces
  • Floor runners and doorframe protection at both properties
  • Goods-in-transit and public liability insurance from pickup to delivery
  • Live GPS tracking so you can see how far away the truck is
  • Placement in the right rooms, even when everyone is tired and it’s late

Straight answers

What’s actually possible on a few hours’ notice

Most removalists say yes to a same-day call and work out the details later. That’s how people end up with two movers at 4pm for a job that needed four at 8am, and half their belongings still in the old place at midnight.

Same-day capacity is real but finite. It depends entirely on what’s already booked for that day and how much of the day is left when you ring. So the answer you get from us is a straight one, immediately, because you may need to keep calling.

Call before midday if you can

A morning call means a crew can still be with you in the afternoon. A 3pm call for a three-bedroom house is usually tomorrow, and we’ll say so rather than starting a job that can’t finish.

Smaller loads move faster

A studio or a single room at short notice is nearly always possible. A four-bedroom house needs a crew and a truck that were probably committed days ago.

Packing is the bottleneck, not the truck

If nothing is boxed, the crew packs before they load and that changes the timing entirely. We can bring cartons and pack for you — just say so on the call so the right number of people turn up.

Buildings still have rules

Apartment lifts and loading docks often need booking days ahead, and a same-day move can’t override that. Tell us the building early and we’ll work out what’s allowed today.

You’re not the first

Why people need to move at short notice

Nobody plans a same-day move. Every one of these is a call we take most weeks.

The lease ended sooner than expected

A notice period misread, or an agent who wants the keys on a date you didn’t expect.

Settlement moved forward

Rare, but it happens, and it leaves you with days instead of weeks.

Another removalist cancelled

The most common call we get. Someone didn’t show and you need a truck today.

A rental came through

Sydney rentals go fast. When one lands you often take it immediately or lose it.

A relationship ended

Sometimes moving quickly is the priority and everything else can wait.

Work relocated you

A start date that doesn’t leave room for a considered move.

The property became unliveable

Flooding, fire damage or an urgent repair that means moving out now.

A share house changed overnight

A flatmate left, the lease shifted, and one room needs to move this week.

Pricing

What a same-day move costs in Sydney

The same hourly rate as a move booked a month out. Urgency doesn’t change the price of a truck and a crew, and charging more because you’re stuck is not how we do it.

A time, or the earliest slot we have

Where a rushed move does get expensive

It isn’t the rate, it’s the hours. A house where nothing is packed takes a crew far longer than one where everything is boxed and stacked by the door, and you’re paying for that time either way.

An hour spent boxing the kitchen tonight saves more than an hour on the clock tomorrow. If you have no time at all, tell us and we’ll send packers with the truck — that’s cheaper than a crew of movers doing packing work at moving rates.

How it works

How a same-day move runs

  1. Call us

Both addresses, rough size, the access at each end and your deadline. Two minutes on the phone.

  2. We check the day

You get a yes with an arrival window, or a no with the earliest slot we genuinely have.

  3. Crew dispatched

The nearest available truck heads to you and you can track it the whole way in.

  4. Loaded and delivered

Wrapped, loaded, driven and placed in the right rooms — finished the same day.

Why UNN

Four things that matter more when you’re out of time

  1. A straight yes or no

We tell you what we can actually do today, so you’re not left waiting on a booking that was never going to happen.

  2. Real-time GPS tracking

A live link to the truck from dispatch, not a four-hour window and a promise.

  3. No cancellation fees

Urgent dates move again. If yours does, reschedule at no charge.

  4. No rush-job surcharge

Short notice is priced exactly the same as a move booked a month out.

Questions

Same-day moving questions, answered

Can you really move me today?
Often, yes — and we’ll tell you within minutes rather than taking a booking we can’t honour. It depends on what’s already scheduled for that day, how much you’re moving and how much of the day is left. Call before midday and the odds are good. If we can’t do it, we’ll say so straight away so you can keep ringing.
Do same day moving companies charge more?
Many do. We don’t — the hourly rate for a short-notice job is the same as for a move booked a month ahead, with no urgency loading and no emergency call-out fee. What changes the total is how many hours the job takes, and an unpacked house takes considerably longer.
How late can I call and still move today?
There’s no fixed cut-off, because it depends on the size of the job. A few items or a studio can often start mid-afternoon. A three or four-bedroom house called in at 3pm is realistically tomorrow, and we’d rather tell you that than start something at dusk that can’t finish.
What if nothing is packed?
That’s common on short-notice moves and it’s manageable, but it changes the timing and the crew. Say so when you call and we’ll bring cartons and send packers with the truck, which is cheaper than having movers do packing work at moving rates. See packing.
Can you help if another removalist cancelled?
Yes, and it’s one of the most frequent calls we take. Tell us what was booked and when, and we’ll tell you what we can put together. If the original company took a deposit, that’s a matter between you and them — our job is getting you moved today.
Is a rushed move still insured?
Yes. Goods-in-transit and public liability cover apply exactly as they do on any other job. Short notice changes the schedule, not the standard — same trained crews, same equipment, same protection on floors and doorframes.
What should I do while I wait for the crew?
Three things that genuinely help. Clear a path from the furthest room to the front door. Box whatever you can, starting with the kitchen, since loose items are what slow a load down. And put passports, medication, keys, chargers and anything irreplaceable in one bag that travels with you rather than on the truck.
Can you move me at night or on a weekend?
We operate seven days from 6am to 10pm, with emergency service outside that. Evening and weekend moves are common for short-notice jobs. The limit is usually the building rather than us — many apartment blocks restrict move times, so tell us the address and we’ll check what’s allowed.
What if I have nowhere to move to yet?
Then we move you into storage and deliver to the new address when you have one. It’s billed monthly with no lock-in, so a fortnight costs a fortnight. This is a normal outcome when a lease ends before the next one starts.
Which suburbs can you reach today?
Anywhere in the Sydney metro. Our base is Parramatta, so western and north-western suburbs are usually the quickest to reach, but same-day availability is set by crew scheduling rather than distance. Give us the suburb on the call and we’ll tell you the realistic arrival time.

Need to move today?

Call us with both addresses, the size of the place and your deadline. You’ll know within minutes whether we can get a truck to you — and there’s no surcharge for the short notice.
