How much does removalist labour hire cost in Sydney?
Hourly per mover, with a two-hour minimum booking. Two movers for two hours is the smallest job we take, and most unloads sit close to it. There is no vehicle charge, because you are supplying the vehicle. Tell us what is moving and roughly how long you think it will take, and a written quote comes back within two hours.
Can I book just one mover?
We send two, and it is not an upsell. One person cannot carry a lounge, a mattress or a washing machine safely, and a solo mover on a staircase is how both the furniture and the person get hurt. If your job is genuinely one-person work, such as carrying boxes to a van, two movers still finish it in under half the time.
How many movers do I actually need?
Two handles a one or two-bedroom load. Three is better for a three-bedroom house, a job with stairs at both ends, or anything on a tight truck-hire clock. An undersized crew is a false saving, because you pay the extra hours anyway and the truck sits on the meter while it happens. Describe the job and we advise honestly.
Do you bring trolleys and equipment?
Yes, always. Trolleys, dollies, stair climbers, furniture blankets and straps arrive with the crew. Truck hire almost never includes any of it, and a few blankets is the difference between furniture that arrives intact and furniture that arrives scratched.
Do I need to be there?
Someone does, at least to give access and say what goes where. It does not have to be you. Plenty of bookings are run by a family member at one end while the customer drives the truck. Give us their name and number when you book so the crew is not standing at a locked door.
Is my furniture insured if I drive it myself?
This is the honest limitation of labour hire and worth knowing before you choose it. Our $1M public liability covers our crew working at your property, and workers compensation covers them. Goods in transit are a different thing, and once your own vehicle is carrying them, they sit under your hire agreement or your own policy rather than ours. If cover on the road matters to you, a full home removal with our truck is the better booking and we will tell you so.
Can you help me load a shipping container or moving pod?
Yes, and containers reward doing it properly more than trucks do. Everything has to be stacked tight to the walls and strapped in tiers, because a container that shifts on a wharf or a rail transfer is not something anyone can pull over and fix. Tell us the container size and whether it is on a tilt tray or standing on the ground, because that changes the loading height.
Can you move furniture around inside my house?
Yes, and it is a bigger part of this service than people expect. Do you supply general labourers for other work?
